Finn harnesses the complex emotions of a human boy! Hitting the same enemy multiple times with Basic Attacks (or Bombastic Dash) will increase Finn's damage to that enemy by 20% up to 3 times (for a total of 60% damage).
Hitting a different enemy will reset Finn's Fury
Finn creates a shield that boosts his Armor (25%) and Attack Speed (20%). If Finn reaches max Fury while Armored Fury is active, the shield explodes, doing damage (50 + 0.6 Power Damage). The shield also explodes if Finn is KO'ed while it is active. Also, as long as the shield is active, finn gets a 0.5 move speed boost
Finn dashes forward and slashes enemies in his path (75 + 0.2 Power Damage). Bombastic Dash adds Fury and its cooldown refreshes on a KO or Assist.
Finn drops 4 sword walls creating a fighting ring around himself. ROOTS (2 sec.) and damages (65 + 0.2 Power Damage) the first enemy to touch each wall.
Finn is a champion everyone has played in this game, unless you skipped the tutorial. As a highly dangerous 1v1 champion, it is never a good idea to stay in a long fight against Finn by yourself as he can keep racking up stacks on his passive and shredding your health bar to 0. Finn has pretty well rounded stats that make him a very basic champion.
As in all of my strategy guides for most champions, I start with their passive. Finn's passive, Fury, amplifies your damage by a maximum of 160%, making attack damage very viable on him. Although the tooltip states only basic attacks and Bombastic Dash apply Fury, all other spells do too. Note that multi-target spells, which is almost all his spells, prioritize applying Fury to these targets in this order:
1: Any target who already has Fury stacks 2: First champion hit 3:First minion or monster hit.
Remember that Fury stacks reset upon a new target, so taking down one enemy at a time is more efficent.
Armored Attack is what makes Finn a killing machine. The bonus armor and attack speed steroid allows him to rack up Fury faster and also be given 25% bonus armor. You can use this spell to help take down turrets faster, but Fury doesn't stack on turrets. The bonus armor can be also used to survive some otherwise fatal attacks. The shield itself doesn't deal a lot of damage, and lasts only 3 seconds. If you don't have lots of attack speed, you might not be able to apply 4 basic attacks fast enough. You can use your other spells to help apply more Fury. Also note that activating it resets your basic attack timer.
W is Finn's primary utility spell. A short dash with a short cooldown. It does have some disadvantages compared with Gunter's or Peppermint Butler's dashes, as Finn can't cross the barrier between your base and the middle jungle area. However, it can dash through other walls. In a fight, it is usually used to chase enemies, run away, or simply get a stack of Fury on a target. Since it recharges on a kill or assist it can be used to take out multiple people trying to escape a teamfight. The dash animation is pretty quick, so it is hard to dodge unless you are anticipating it. It also resets on kills or assists, so you can tower dive, as long as you makes sure you get the kill. Don't forget Q! One note is that you cannot dash through an enemy Finn's The Ring.
Finn's ultimate has the shortest cooldown, for an ultimate at least. The RIng is great for the early rush to the center altar, is it blocks off attempts for capturing it. It can also help secure kills or be used to escape. When chasing, beware of monsters or minions, since they can hit the wall and a champion can escape without getting hurt. It does have a casting time delay, so make sure you are close enough before using it. Get the feel of where The Ring is going to land to ensure your enemy will be trapped in it. Most dashes can avoid walls. Flame Princess' ult dash and Finn's dash will hit the wall. I have not tested Rattleballs' dash.
For backpacks, you should prioritize attack speed and attack damage with a bit of health or attack vamp for more sustain. Billy's Bag, Bindle of Bravery, or Meta-Science Sack are helpful, Billy for laning and Meta and Bindle for jungling. Bindle is great fusion of team fighting and jungling as if you put points into sword and armor, you become tanky, fast at attacking, and able to down enemies quick. In team fights, you should prioritize squishy champions, as you can quickly wipe them out. Spam your W, as it resets on a kill or assist.
General tips to counter Finn, not champion specified.
1: Blinding is an effective counter to Finn, however he can still stack fury during the blind. Stuns can also cripple his damage output.
2: Finn excels in assassinating squishy opponents. Keep your distance and don't engage unless you have a clear advantage.
3: Finn can take down Goo Monster or Kee'oth by himself with attack vamp and attack speed, so make sure to ping when he is MIA.
4: Try to last hit jungle mobs that Finn has been fighting in order to get the xp, points, and boosts.
I'm no pro at Finn, so leave a comment about how I did. If you did skip the tutorial, do consider trying it :)
